“Is this real life?”: My Rachel-centric review of Britney/Brittany!

Because so many people review the entire episode of Glee after it airs, I thought that I would begin doing something a little different when recapping the episode. Instead of focusing on every character/storyline/song/etc., I’ll solely be focusing on the scenes in which I’m featured. There will a few aspects I’ll look for each episode. So let’s get right into it, shall we?

Best Rachel Performance: The Only Exception

Although I absolutely loved the recreation of Baby One More Time, this song was much more suited for yours truly and it also provided what little plot development we actually received from this episode. The end with Finn walking away from Brittany and Santana to hold Rachel’s hand was touching and solidified once again why he and Rachel are the couple to root for! Though they both mess up at times, in the end, they always come out stronger than before.

Best Rachel outfit: Baby One More Time’s catholic schoolgirl

Rachel’s re-creation of the Baby One More Time video was absolutely amazing, with everything down to the outfits looking almost identical to the ones featured in Britney’s first big music video.  Wearing the outfit to school, Rachel finally got some of the attention she deserves, albeit for the wrong reasons. And, despite Jacob being very creepy, the outfit provided us with a few laughs from his character.

Best Rachel quote: “I look forward to the day the paparazzi provoke me and I attack them.”

While waiting in the dentist office, Rachel occupied her time doing one of the things she does best: researching. This time, the subject of choice was Britney Spears. Who can forget when Britney attacked the paparazzi back in her less-than-glamorous days? This quote perfectly sums up Rachel’s need for fame and her desire to cause a scene.

There you have it, my Rachel-centric thoughts on the episode. What did you think of the Britney Spears tribute? Share your thoughts in the comments section below!
